Taylor Swift’s 1989 Album Gets a Fresh Update!
The much-awaited announcement has arrived – Taylor Swift is set to unveil “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on October 27th, as she shared across her social media platforms.
Originally released in 2014, the iconic album “1989” played a pivotal role in shaping Swift’s career. Her anticipation is palpable as she reveals her latest musical endeavor. What’s more, Swifties have an extra reason to be thrilled – this re-recorded version holds a special place in Taylor’s heart. She passionately writes, “Honestly, this re-record is my absolute favorite, especially with the inclusion of the ‘5 From The Vault’ tracks. These gems were too good to be left behind, and they’re making a comeback!”
Pre-orders for the upcoming LP are now available on Taylor Swift’s official website. Fans can choose from four deluxe CD editions (“Crystal Skies Blue,” “Rose Garden Pink,” “Aquamarine Green,” and “Sunrise Boulevard Yellow”), as well as a “Crystal Skies Blue” vinyl and cassette version. This will mark Taylor’s fourth re-recorded album, following her re-recording project’s initiation in 2019. The previous three re-versions all enjoyed the coveted No. 1 position on the Billboard 200 chart: “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” for two weeks in 2021, “Red (Taylor’s Version)” for one week in 2021, and “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” for two weeks in 2023. All three also achieved the top spot on the Official U.K. Albums Chart.

With an impressive total of 21 “From The Vault” tracks across these re-versions, Swift has struck gold with multiple top 10 hits on the Hot 100 chart. She’s garnered significant airplay on pop radio and even claimed a No. 1 spot with the extended 10-minute version of “All Too Well.”
The original release of “1989” had an astonishing 11-week run at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The anticipation for Version No. 4 of this album was warranted, considering Swift had already treated fans to glimpses of what’s to come, including “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version),” which gained traction on TikTok, and “This Love (Taylor’s Version),” featured in the Amazon Prime series trailer for “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
Swift continues to set and break records with remarkable ease. In 2023, she secured her 12th U.S. No. 1 album with “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version),” surpassing Barbra Streisand for the most No. 1 albums among women. Across the pond in the U.K., she stands as the sole artist this century to claim 10 No. 1 albums. Her blockbuster “The Eras Tour” made waves in Australia, as she dominated the ARIA Albums Chart by seizing all top 5 positions in a single week – an unparalleled feat. Furthermore, she achieved the rare accomplishment of replacing her own No. 1 on the ARIA Charts, marking the first instance since their inception in 1983.
The confirmation of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on a Thursday ET coincided with the culmination of Swift’s six-night run at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. The final night marked the conclusion of the first U.S. leg of “The Eras Tour.”
Starting August 24th, Swift is taking her tour global, embarking on an array of international dates in Latin America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. She’s set to return to the U.S. in 2024 for a second round across North America.
