The initial group of protestors has been apprehended and transported to the Cocobod police station. The organizers, who go by the name Democracy Hub, had originally scheduled a demonstration near the Jubilee House from Thursday, September 21, to Saturday, September 23, 2023, and had informed the police of their intentions.
On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the police issued a statement indicating that they had filed an injunction to halt the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest with the court. They were awaiting the court’s decision before taking any further action. In response, the protest organizers released a statement stating that they had not received any legal documents from the Ghana Police Service, although the police issued another statement claiming that the documents had been sent to the organizers’ lawyers.
