The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) is mourning the loss of its President, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, who passed away early on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, after a brief illness.
Hajiya Lau was celebrated for her tireless work in various empowerment programs that made a significant difference in the lives of many underprivileged women across the nation.
In a heartfelt press release, the NCWS praised her unwavering dedication and substantial contributions to society. The statement highlighted her as a devoted leader and a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment, whose impact will be remembered by all who knew her.
“Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau was a dedicated leader and champion of women’s empowerment who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her tireless efforts and contributions to the betterment of our society will never be forgotten. Her leadership and dedication have inspired countless women and will continue to motivate future generations,” the NCWS stated.
Hajiya Lau was laid to rest on Wednesday in Taraba State, in accordance with Islamic customs. The NCWS has called on its members and the public to offer their heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all NCWS members.
“We mourn the loss of our dear leader and friend, and we pray that God grants us the strength and grace to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace. Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, born in 1962, lived a fulfilling life of 62 years, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service to humanity. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide the NCWS and the wider community,” the statement concluded.
