Commuter Struggles
The Iyana-Oworo and Olopo Meji areas leading to the 3rd Mainland Bridge were completely submerged, resulting in heavy traffic jams that extended to Alapere. Many residents, hoping to reach their jobs, were left stranded at various bus stops across the city.
Traffic Woes
Motorists faced hours-long delays, particularly those traveling through Alapere to the Third Mainland Bridge. The flooding severely impacted the flow of traffic, with drivers stuck in long queues.
Swift Response
In addition to the flooding, a fallen tree around the Airport U-turn in Oshodi added to the challenges. However, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) quickly responded to clear the obstruction. Their prompt action helped restore traffic flow and ensured public safety, preventing further congestion and potential hazards.
