Music icon D’banj is ramping up excitement for his upcoming album, The Entertainer D’Sequel, dropping on Friday, August 16.
In a newly released trailer, D’banj gathers an impressive lineup, featuring Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke, media personality Jimi Akinsola, and of course, D’banj himself.
The trailer, with the feel of a spy thriller, centers on a gripping interrogation scene. The standout moment is when D’banj declares:
“Just because the soldier rests his gun doesn’t mean he’s no longer a shooter.”
“People keep asking me if I’m back. How can I be back when I never left? I am the entertainer.”
This year, D’banj celebrated two decades in the music industry with a series of releases. In May, he dropped “04,” followed by “Koko” in June, a fresh twist on his 2005 hit “Tongolo.” He also released “Worthy,” a collaboration with Senegalese music legend Youssou N’Dour and Nigerian-American “The Voice” contestant Chechi Sarai.
These tracks are expected to be part of his highly anticipated album.
