The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed deep condolences to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, following the loss of his wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
The announcement of her passing was made by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, on Friday morning. According to the statement, Pastor Patience Umo Eno passed away in the hospital on September 26, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
In the statement titled Unexpected Sunset, it was shared: “With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on September 26, 2024.”
The family is leaning on their faith, seeking prayers and support from well-wishers during this difficult time. They have also requested privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Governor Umo Eno expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serving the state, despite this personal tragedy.
In response, the NGF, through its Chairman, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, released a statement expressing their shock at the sudden passing of the First Lady. The statement read, “The NGF sends heartfelt condolences to Governor Umo Eno, his family, and the people of Akwa Ibom on the loss of this remarkable woman.”
The forum extended their prayers for strength to the Governor and his family during this challenging time, asking for God’s comfort and peace. They also prayed for the soul of the late First Lady, hoping that her memory continues to inspire those she impacted during her lifetime.
