Nollywood actress Regina Daniels recently shared that her mother, Rita Daniels, initially opposed her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko. The 23-year-old actress revealed that, contrary to popular belief, her mother and other family members were against her relationship with the politician.
During a live session on Instagram, Regina explained how she first met Nwoko. She recounted that she was on an outing with one of her ex-boyfriends when she unexpectedly crossed paths with the man who would become her husband. “I was annoyed about the outing, but then I met this charming man,” she shared, humorously adding, “The lesson here? Don’t let a boyfriend keep you from meeting your husband!”
Regina went on to clarify that rumors of her mother forcing her into marriage were untrue. She noted, “People think my mom pushed me into it, but actually, she and my whole family said no.”
Nwoko and Daniels tied the knot in May 2019 in Aniocha, Delta State, despite the significant age difference between them. Reflecting on his choice, the 63-year-old politician stated, “I married her because she’s from my hometown. I was looking for someone from my community, and when I met her, I just knew.”
This candid revelation sheds light on Regina’s journey and the unexpected circumstances surrounding her marriage.
