Actor and New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter Prince David Osei has issued a sincere apology to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who may have been hurt by his statements during the election campaign. In a heartfelt post on Facebook, he acknowledged the NDC’s victory in the 2024 elections and called for national unity.
He wrote: “I deeply apologise if my words during the campaign offended anyone from NDC. We were all focused on winning, but now let’s move forward and live in peace. God bless Ghana.”

This gesture has been widely praised as a positive step toward reconciliation after the tense election season. However, Prince David Osei also shared in a separate post that he had received threats from some NDC supporters. Responding to these threats, he expressed his concerns:
“To some NDC supporters, is this the meaning of democracy? Even after winning the election, resorting to violence, insults, intimidation, and bullying. I can only imagine what would have happened if you had lost. Now that I know my life is in danger, I’ll be prepared. God is my protector. Be cautious when coming after me. Not everyone is ready for a fight. I’m not afraid, just shocked.”
This came in the wake of controversy surrounding a previous comment by the actor, where he referred to former President John Dramani Mahama as a “drunkard” in a viral tweet. He wrote: “Even drunkard you voted for kwasia boy!! Learn sense wai Gyimi.”
The remark was met with strong backlash, with many criticizing it as “disrespectful” and “insensitive.” Social media users and political commentators have urged public figures like Prince David Osei to adopt a more respectful tone in political discussions, especially in Ghana’s current climate of striving for national unity.
