The Super Falcons have once again been named the Women’s National Team of the Year at the 2024 CAF Awards, securing back-to-back wins in this prestigious category.
The event, hosted in Marrakech, Morocco, celebrated the Nigerian women’s national team for their remarkable achievements and consistency in African football.
Speaking on the award, Gusau credited the team’s success to Nigeria’s dedication to advancing women’s football.
With a record eleven Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles, the Super Falcons have cemented their place as a dominant force in African football. Their impressive performance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup further underscored their status as a powerhouse.
In addition to the team’s recognition, individual Nigerian players also shone at the awards. Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie received a nomination for Women’s Player of the Year, reflecting her exceptional talent and contributions.
Edo Queens, Nigeria’s champions, were also in the spotlight as nominees for Women’s Club of the Year, showcasing the nation’s depth of talent in women’s football.
