Bill Clinton Admitted to Hospital in Washington for Testing and Observation
Former US President Bill Clinton was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center on Monday after developing a fever, according to his office.
Deputy Chief of Staff Angel Urena shared the news on social media, confirming that the 78-year-old Clinton is “in good spirits” as he undergoes testing and observation.
This is not the first time Clinton has faced health challenges. In October 2021, he was hospitalized for five nights due to a blood infection. In 2004, at 58, he underwent a quadruple bypass surgery following extensive heart disease, later receiving stents in his coronary artery in 2010.
The health scares prompted Clinton to make lifestyle changes, including adopting a vegetarian diet, which he has discussed openly over the years.
Clinton’s health also made headlines in November 2022 when he tested positive for Covid-19, describing his symptoms as “mild” and expressing gratitude for being vaccinated and boosted.
Now 78, Clinton remains the second-youngest living US president, following 63-year-old Barack Obama. Born just months apart from former presidents George W. Bush and Donald Trump, Clinton’s presidency, from 1993 to 2001, was marked by both accomplishments and controversy.
Since leaving office, Clinton has remained active in diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, continuing to play a significant role on the global stage.
