Bill Clinton Discharged from Hospital After Health Scare
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was released from the hospital on Tuesday, following treatment for a fever, his office confirmed.
“President Clinton was discharged earlier today after being treated for the flu,” shared Angel Urena, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, on social media. “He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided by the team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and for the outpouring of kind messages and well-wishes.”
The 78-year-old statesman’s hospitalization marked another chapter in a series of health concerns over the years.
In October 2021, Clinton was hospitalized for five days due to a blood infection. Earlier in 2004, he underwent a quadruple bypass operation after being diagnosed with severe heart disease, prompting him to adopt healthier lifestyle habits, including switching to a vegetarian diet.
Clinton, who served as president from 1993 to 2001, remains the second-youngest living former U.S. president, with Barack Obama, 63, holding the title. His health also drew attention in November 2022 when he tested positive for COVID-19, although his symptoms were mild.
Despite a presidency marred by controversies, Clinton has embraced an active post-presidential life, engaging in various diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives over the last two decades. His dedication to global causes and public service continues to inspire admiration.
