On Tuesday, former U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at the possibility of imposing additional measures against Russia if President Vladimir Putin remains unwilling to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.
When asked at the White House if further actions against Moscow were on the table, Trump responded, “Sounds likely.”
Before his inauguration, Trump pledged to bring an immediate end to the conflict in Ukraine, fueling speculation that he might use U.S. support as a bargaining chip to push Kyiv toward concessions.
In a rare criticism of Putin, Trump remarked on Monday, “He needs to make a deal. I think he’s hurting Russia by not doing so.”
He also shared that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed a desire to pursue a peace agreement, emphasizing the importance of resolving the ongoing crisis.
