Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington has opened up about her struggles with hyperemesis gravidarum during her second pregnancy.
Hyperemesis gravidarum is a severe pregnancy condition that causes intense nausea and vomiting, leading to dehydration, weight loss, and other health complications.
Reacting to the tragic story of a pregnant woman in the UK, Jess Cronshaw, who reportedly took her own life due to extreme morning sickness, Adesua shared her own experience with the condition.
In a heartfelt post on her Instagram story, she expressed frustration over how little people understand the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum.
She also took a moment to appreciate her husband, doctors, family, and friends for supporting her throughout her pregnancy journey.
“When I talk about the severity of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don’t always understand, and it’s frustrating. I am deeply grateful for my husband, my doctors, my family, and my friends who stood by me,” she wrote.
“This isn’t just morning sickness—it’s a serious condition that affects your entire quality of life.”
