Rihanna might be attending the Super Bowl.
TMZ claims that the pop icon is planning to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show next year.
Rihanna has reportedly been the subject of “several negotiations” with the NFL and Roc Nation about performing. Although it’s unknown whether she’s been locked up, reports claim that a declaration could be made as soon as Sunday afternoon.
The Super Bowl may be the ideal venue for Rihanna to debut her new album, which has been anticipated by fans for six years. The singer, who gave birth to a kid in May with A$AP Rocky, has recently been seen in the studio, igniting rumors that her long-awaited album will soon be released.
In support of Colin Kaepernick and the way the NFL handled him, Rihanna earlier declined a request to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2020. The company that creates the halftime performance, Roc Nation, represents Rihanna.
The NFL reportedly held discussions with a different star as well. In 2020, at least two acts Shakira and Jennifer Lopez might be on stage.
This comes after Taylor Swift reportedly declined a proposal to perform as the show’s headlining act in 2023. She wants to do it, but she’s going to hold off until she has redone the recordings for each of her six albums.
On February 12, 2023, Super Bowl LVII will take place in State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, and will mark Apple Music’s debut as a presenter.
