Moses Simon Bids Emotional Farewell to Nantes, Heads to Paris FC
After six unforgettable seasons in yellow and green, Moses Simon is saying goodbye to FC Nantes—and saying hello to a new chapter with Ligue 1 newcomers, Paris FC.
The Super Eagles winger took to his 𝕏 account Tuesday evening to announce his departure, sharing a heartfelt message in French alongside a 75-second highlight reel packed with memories, goals, and goosebump-worthy moments.
“Six seasons giving everything with my heart,” he wrote. “Sprints, crosses, goosebumps, and memories engraved forever. Thank you FC Nantes, thank you Beaujoire. I leave with pride—and with a piece of this club in my heart.”
Simon first joined Nantes on loan from Levante in 2019, and the move became permanent the following year. Since then, he’s been a constant force on the pitch—racking up 201 appearances, 37 goals, and 42 assists. He helped the club stay afloat during tough seasons and was instrumental in their Coupe de France victory in 2022, as well as a return to the final in 2023.
His final season was a standout. With eight goals and ten assists, he helped steer Nantes to 13th place—well clear of the relegation zone.
Now, the 29-year-old is heading to Paris FC, who recently earned promotion to Ligue 1 for the first time in nearly five decades. French media reports confirm he completed his medical on Tuesday ahead of a €7 million move. A three-year contract is reportedly in the works.
Paris FC aren’t hiding their ambition. Despite interest from clubs like Rennes, Marseille, and even England’s Everton, Simon chose the Parisian side—a decision that hints at a bold new project taking shape in the capital.
His arrival is more than just a big-name signing. It’s a statement of intent.
Rumors are swirling that Paris FC may also be in talks to land Congolese defender Chancel Mbemba as his contract with Marseille winds down.
If true, this could be the beginning of a very exciting summer in Paris—one where newly-promoted doesn’t mean quietly surviving, but making noise.
Moses Simon, for one, is ready for the next sprint.
