AY Shares Emotional Milestone, Two Years After Fire Gutted His Home
Comedian and actor Ayo Makun, known by many as AY, has taken a moment to reflect on a life-changing event—two years after a fire devastated his Lekki residence.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, the entertainer gave fans a glimpse into what he described as a long and painful journey—from the charred remains of his former house to the calm elegance of his rebuilt home.
The video he posted begins with footage of the fire’s aftermath: collapsed walls, soot-covered ruins, and emptiness. It then shifts to the newly transformed space, boasting sleek marble floors, bold African details, and a quiet sense of renewal.
But for AY, the loss went far beyond just bricks and mortar.
“Two years ago today, everything went up in flames: my home, my peace, my comfort zone,” he wrote. “And that was just the beginning.”
He didn’t just face the trauma of displacement—he also opened up about personal betrayals, false narratives, and moments that tested his strength. Through it all, he said, his faith was the anchor that kept him steady.
“I’ve seen lies, betrayal, and storms meant to destroy what I built. But I’m still standing—not because of luck, but because God is faithful,” he shared. “Grave is louder than gossip, and purpose doesn’t burn in fire.”
AY’s post wasn’t just a reflection—it was also a reminder. A reminder that while others may conspire or criticize, growth still happens in the quiet, healing still happens in the background, and new beginnings often rise from the ashes.
“They still talk,” he added, “but while they walk in darkness, I walk in light. Every setback was just a setup for something bigger.”
