Pep Guardiola is set to make big changes at Manchester City this summer, with several departures on the horizon as he looks to streamline his squad.
Reports suggest that at least six players could be heading for the exit, including first-choice goalkeeper Ederson, defender Nathan Ake, youngster Joshua Wilson-Esbrand, Argentine starlet Claudio Echeverri, midfielder Kalvin Phillips, and winger Savinho.
Even after City’s commanding 4–0 victory over Wolves in their Premier League opener, Guardiola admitted his squad is “too heavy” and requires trimming.
Ederson, a central figure in City’s recent success, was notably absent from the matchday lineup. He is currently in advanced talks with Galatasaray, with a move expected to be completed before the transfer window closes.
Savinho, who caught attention during his loan spell at Girona, also missed out on the Wolves clash. Tottenham Hotspur are strongly interested in signing him as part of their ongoing rebuild.
Meanwhile, Kalvin Phillips, who has struggled to find his place since arriving from Leeds United, looks set for a permanent departure after loan stints with Ipswich Town and West Ham.
As for Ake, Wilson-Esbrand, and teenage midfielder Echeverri, they are also considered surplus to requirements as Guardiola narrows his focus to a tighter, more balanced group for another demanding season on multiple fronts.
