Singer Brymo has called out some of Nigeria’s biggest music names, including Burna Boy and Davido, urging them to stop remixing or remaking songs from rising artistes.
According to him, the trend makes it more difficult for upcoming talents to find their own footing in the industry.
In a post shared on his Instagram story, Brymo explained that while established stars often claim they are supporting younger musicians by jumping on their songs, the reality is different. He described the practice as unnecessary and unfair, saying it takes away from the originality and growth of new acts.
He stressed that big names should allow fresh talents to shine on their own, without interference that could cloud their creativity or understanding of the music business.
Brymo wrote:
“Dear Nigerian mainstream ‘A-listers’—Burna [Boy], Davido and others—stop hopping on every hit song for a remix, especially those by new artistes. Let them find their own path. Pretending it’s about helping them grow is laughable. Stop seeking relevance in the work of those still learning the ropes. It’s wrong.”
