Neymar may be on the verge of an unexpected fortune.
Reports in Brazil claim that an anonymous billionaire, who recently passed away, left the football star an inheritance worth an eye-watering £846 million.
According to RIC, the man formalised his will in Porto Alegre on June 12, 2025, with witnesses and a notary present. The matter is now before the courts, which will decide whether Neymar can be officially recognised as the sole heir.
What makes the story even more remarkable is that Neymar never actually met his benefactor. The businessman, described as single and without children, reportedly admired the player from afar—especially his close relationship with his father, Neymar Sr.
“I like Neymar, I identify with him a lot,” the will allegedly states. “He isn’t self-serving, which is rare today. His bond with his father reminds me of the one I had with mine, who has passed away.”

The inheritance is said to include real estate, company shares, and other investments, but experts warn the process could face hurdles such as taxes, legal delays, or disputes.
Neymar, 33, has not commented on the news. Already one of the world’s wealthiest athletes, he earned over £90 million in 2024 during his time with Al-Hilal, ranking just behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in global earnings.
Earlier this year, he made an emotional return to Santos, the club where his career began, scoring three goals in 14 appearances as he works to regain peak form ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
If confirmed, the inheritance would not only add to Neymar’s legendary football career but also secure his place among the richest figures in sports history.
