Tiwa Savage Opens Up on Motherhood Dreams and Afrobeats Recognition
Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has spoken candidly about her personal life, revealing that she still hopes to have more children.
In a recent chat with US podcaster Joe Budden, the award-winning singer shared that she has gone through the process of freezing her eggs but is now ready to move beyond that stage.
“I want more children, boys,” she explained. “I’ve already done egg freezing—I was just preparing. Like I said, I’m not young, so I wanted to secure my eggs while they’re still healthy.”
The singer, who is already a proud mother, was open about her preference for having sons and her decision to take proactive steps toward making that dream a possibility.
Beyond family plans, Tiwa also made waves with her bold take on the ongoing Afrobeats “Big 3” debate. While Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are usually the focus of the conversation, Savage argued that Tems deserves to be included at the top tier.
She highlighted Tems’ Grammy win, her chart-topping entry on the Billboard Hot 100, and her impressive collaborations with international stars as proof of her global impact.
According to Tiwa, the story of Afrobeats’ rise cannot be complete without acknowledging female voices. “The usual ‘Big 3’ leaves out women, but Tems’ success shows she belongs right up there,” she said.
With her personal reflections and industry insights, Tiwa Savage continues to spark conversations—whether about motherhood, music, or the future of Afrobeats.
