Temi Otedola Explains Why She Took Mr Eazi’s Name After Marriage
Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has spoken about her choice to change her surname after tying the knot with singer Tosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi.
The actress stirred conversations when she officially dropped her father’s name, a move many fans noticed after her wedding.
In a recent chat with the BBC, Temi explained that the decision came naturally to her as a married woman.
“I’m now a married woman, and for me, the obvious thing was to take my husband’s name. But it’s a personal choice, and I fully respect every woman’s right to decide for herself,” she said.
She also touched on her relationship journey, revealing that choosing to “move in silence” gave her the freedom to build her own story and share it only when she felt ready.
On her part, Temi’s sister, DJ Cuppy, shared her thoughts on marriage, calling it the most powerful partnership anyone can enter.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote:
“Call me old school, but I see marriage as the most important partnership in life. Maybe even the biggest contract you’ll ever sign—with God Himself as the witness. Seeing my baby sister Temi become Mrs. Ajibade reminds me that marriage is far from outdated. With the right person, it creates love, purpose, family, and legacy.”
