Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has made it clear he’s ready to face anyone in the ring — including rising British-Nigerian sensation Moses Itauma.
The New Zealand boxer, who’s been on a strong comeback run, is set to clash with Fabio Wardley on October 25 in London. The highly anticipated bout could bring the winner closer to a shot at undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Speaking with DAZN News, Parker praised Itauma’s talent but made it known that he’s not afraid of the challenge.
“I’ll fight him. Moses is a great talent — young, fast, and strong. He’s been doing what’s expected of him, taking care of business every time. I’m not in boxing to pick easy fights. I’ll fight anyone,” Parker said.
At just 19 years old, Itauma has taken the heavyweight scene by storm. His explosive first-round knockout of Dillian Whyte in August sent shockwaves through the boxing world, cementing his reputation as one of the sport’s most dangerous young prospects.
Promoter Frank Warren has already announced that Itauma will headline a major fight night in Manchester on December 13, though finding him an opponent hasn’t been easy. Several big names — including Filip Hrgovic and Jermaine Franklin — have reportedly turned down offers after witnessing Itauma’s destructive power.
Parker, however, is built differently. Known for his resilience and fearlessness, the 32-year-old has already faced and defeated heavyweight giants like Deontay Wilder, Zhilei Zhang, and Martin Bakole.
With his sights set on reclaiming a world title, Parker sees every fight as a stepping stone. A win over Wardley could be the key to another championship run — and perhaps, a showdown with the new generation’s biggest threat, Moses Itauma.
