Beauty Tukura Opens Up About Depression After BBNaija Disqualification
Former Big Brother Naija Season 7 housemate, Beauty Tukura, has opened up about her emotional struggles following her disqualification from the show in 2022.
Speaking on the Beyond With Ezinne podcast, the ex-beauty queen shared how life took a painful turn after she was evicted, describing it as one of the darkest moments she’s ever faced.
Beauty explained that the heavy criticism from the public deeply affected her mental health. She felt ashamed, broken, and too embarrassed to face her parents after the incident.
Despite the emotional turmoil, her family’s love and constant encouragement became her lifeline. She revealed that their support, along with messages from fans who continued to believe in her, helped her begin the long process of healing.
In her words,
“The heat was too much. It felt like nothing I said would make sense because everyone just wanted to crucify me like Jesus. I was in a very bad place. I cried every day. I even thought about ending it all.”
Beauty said she eventually chose to focus on the positive — the kindness, love, and uplifting words that reminded her she still mattered.
“That was the lowest point of my life,” she admitted. “And I’ve decided it will remain that way. There’s no room for such mistakes anymore.”
Beauty was disqualified from the Level Up edition of BBNaija in August 2022 after receiving two strikes for her altercations with fellow housemates Ilebaye and Groovy.
Today, she says the experience taught her resilience, self-awareness, and the importance of grace — both from others and herself.
