To honor the late rapper Takeoff of the Migos, Busta Rhymes has delayed the release of his upcoming album.

The renowned emcee revealed on Tuesday (Nov. 8) that he would postpone the project in order to honor the late Atlanta musician. In an Instagram post, Busta said that she has decided to delay the release of her EP The Fuse Is Lit until November 18 in order to assist with the lovely sendoff for her brother Takeoff. Sending love and positive energy to our brothers Quality Control, the Migos, and their lovely families. Busta’s new song was initially planned to be released on Friday, November 11, the same day that Takeoff will be laid to rest.

Rapper Busta is not the first to change plans in response to the horrific incident. Drake made the choice to cancel a planned show in New York earlier this week. The Toronto native said on Monday that the Apollo event had been postponed so that the group could honor their close buddy this weekend (Nov. 7). For the fans, we have added a second date.
On Nov. 1, when it was revealed that Takeoff had been shot and died while at a Houston bowling alley, Busta and other hip-hop fans turned to social media to express their sorrow over the death of yet another outstanding performer who had passed away far too young. The “Touch It” emcee posted on Instagram, “It took a lot of time today and a lot of thoughts to try to figure out where to start with this today. “When you face the loss of life, especially when you love the lives of the individuals we lose, there is no perspective that is the appropriate one to look at things from.”
