On Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first goal in five World Cups as Portugal defeated Ghana 3-2 to begin their campaign in Qatar.
Ronaldo overcame a turbulent week that saw him abruptly quit Manchester United to score Portugal’s winning penalty in the second half.
Shortly after, Andre Ayew pulled Ghana even, but Joao Felix and Rafael Leao goals for Portugal gave them a 3-1 advantage.
Ghana received a late consolation goal from Osman Bukari.
