During his most recent visit to Boston, Prince William received the ultimate American welcome from President Joe Biden.
The Prince of Wales, the heir to the throne, paid a visit to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum on Friday, where he was joined by the president.
“Do you have your top coat?” Despite the chilly Boston weather, Biden asked William as the prince arrived in just a suit. “Good day, Mr. President!” As he reached out to shake the president’s hand, William laughed.
“Nice to see you again,” Biden said, and William responded, “Nice to see you too.”
William’s spokesman said of the pair’s 30-minute visit: “It was a pleasant, friendly, and informative discussion. The president was eager to learn about the prince’s Earth shot Prize and some of the finalists’ stories. The prince also discussed his long-term vision for the Prize.”
William also thanked President Biden for traveling to London in September for his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. “They both had fond memories of Her Majesty,” he explained.

Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, the JFK daughter, was also present to welcome the prince, along with her children Jack and Tatiana Schlossberg, who accompanied William on a tour of the structure.

In honor of President Kennedy, 40-year-old Prince William selected Boston as the venue for the second annual Earth shot Prize Awards Ceremony. The Earth shot Prize, which was inspired by President Kennedy’s infamous 10-year objective of visiting the moon (known as Moonshot), seeks to support significant solutions to the world’s most urgent environmental problems during the coming ten years. (It’s appropriate that the news that the 2022 awards presentation would take place in Boston did so on July 20th, the anniversary of the moon landing.)
William saw displays from the Kennedy Administration’s crucial 1960s period, which came before the moon landing in 1969 while visiting the Boston landmark.

Following the tour, William spoke briefly at a formal luncheon and stated: “Ambassador Kennedy, we appreciate your kind hospitality and welcoming us inside this historic structure. Caroline, just over a year ago, we made a commitment to bring the Earth shot Prize to Boston, where your father was born and who served as the inspiration for our endeavor. The 2022 winners, who will be named later today, represent the next stage of our journey together. Their experiences are motivating, and their answers are revolutionary.”

In a TED Talk from the previous year, William asserted that “humans have an exceptional capacity to set objectives and work to attain them.” “President John F. Kennedy’s 1961 initiative to land a man on the moon within ten years has long served as an inspiration to me. The Moonshot was its moniker. It seemed absurd. We had just put the first satellite into orbit. It seemed inconceivable to put a man on the moon that rapidly.”

Kennedy nonetheless motivated individuals “to coordinate and assess our abilities and best efforts. The Moonshot crew brought millions of people together by making that enormous leap for humanity, demonstrating that this insane desire wasn’t so crazy after all.”

That kind of aspiration is still necessary, in Prince William’s opinion, as we “enter this new decade knowing that it is the most crucial moment in history.”
“The damage we have done will be permanent if we do not respond in this decade,” he warned. “And we all living today will be affected, not just future generations. Furthermore, not everyone will experience this injury equally. The people who will be most affected are those who are most vulnerable, have the fewest resources, and have contributed the least to climate change.”
The glitzy Earthshot Prize ceremony will take place at the MGM Music Hall on Friday night. Five winners from the group of finalists will be revealed there. Along with assistance from the Earthshot network, they will each receive funds worth $1 million to hasten the objectives of their projects.

Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, attended a solo event on Friday. She went to the prominent university’s Center on the Developing Child while visiting Harvard University outside of Boston. One of the main objectives of Kate, 40,’s royal work, harnessing scientific advancements to provide a bright future for every kid, was discussed with researchers.
