Miley Cyrus’ new album “Endless Summer Vacation” will be released on March 10 by her new label, Columbia Records. The album, which Cyrus described in the announcement as “her love letter to L.A.,” will be the follow-up to 2020’s “Plastic Hearts.”
The announcement of “Endless Summer Vacation” was accompanied by a teaser trailer that teases the themes to be found on the forthcoming album. The one-minute video features Cyrus reciting a short dialogue over various close-up shots and visual references to Los Angeles, such as rippling water, a helicopter, and the city’s eerie-looking cell towers disguised as palm trees.
“The music and imagery of ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ [serve as]a reflection of the strength she’s found in focusing on both her physical and mental well-being,” according to the official press release.
The album was recorded in Los Angeles and co-produced by Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson (who were recently recognized for their work on Harry Styles’ “Harry’s House”), Greg Kurstin, and Mike WiLL Made-It.
“Endless Summer Vacation” will be available worldwide, both digitally and physically. Fans can now pre-order a variety of configurations, including black vinyl, exclusive red vinyl, and an exclusive clear vinyl variant available only on shop.mileycyrus.com.
During her NBC live special, “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party,” the singer revealed that her album’s first single, “Flowers,” will be released on January 13. She also teased fans with two short video clips of “Flowers,” which can be seen on YouTube and Cyrus’ social media accounts.
Aside from the reveal of “Flowers,” the live special featured heavyweight musical performances and special guests such as Sia, Latto, Rae Sremmurd, David Byrne, Liily and Fletcher, Paris Hilton, “SNL’s” Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman, and comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy.
Cyrus joined Columbia last year after seven years and four albums with Sony Music subsidiary RCA.
