According to police, gunmen opened fire on a group of people celebrating a birthday party in a township in South Africa’s Eastern Cape province, killing eight people.
According to a police statement, two gunmen entered the yard of the house in Gqeberha, formerly Port Elizabeth, on Sunday evening and shot at guests at random.
The house’s owner was among those killed, and three others were injured.

Bheki Cele, the Minister of Police, and Fannie Masemola, the Chief of Police, are expected to lead a delegation to the crime scene on Monday.
According to local media, no arrests have been made, and an investigation into the attack has begun.
