England captain Harry Kane has dismissed rumours of an early return to the Premier League, saying he’s content at Bayern Munich and open to extending his stay with the German giants.
The striker joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 for £86.4 million and still has two years left on his contract. Since his move, the 32-year-old has been in sensational form, netting 103 goals in 106 appearances and finally winning his first major trophy — the 2024–25 Bundesliga title.
Despite ongoing reports linking him with a move back to England, Kane seems firmly settled in Germany.
“I could definitely see myself staying longer,” he said in a recent interview. “I haven’t had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they come up, I’d be happy to discuss it. It depends on how things go over the next year or so, but right now, I’m in a great place and focused on the present.”
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank recently said he’d love to see Kane return to England, where the striker needs just 48 more goals to break Alan Shearer’s long-standing Premier League record of 260.
But for Kane, that desire has cooled over time. “If you had asked me when I first left, I would’ve said I’d definitely come back,” he admitted. “Now, after being here for a couple of years, that feeling has changed a bit. I wouldn’t say never, but it’s not something I’m chasing.”
Kane, already the all-time top scorer for both Tottenham and England, reached 100 goals for Bayern faster than any player in Europe’s top five leagues this century.
Winning his first major title in Germany, he said, only made him hungrier. “Lifting that trophy didn’t make me relax — it gave me more drive. I wanted to see how I’d feel after winning something big, and it’s only pushed me to be better. I’ve been eating cleaner, training harder, and trying to make the most of where I am right now,” he said.
With that mindset, Kane looks ready to keep writing his story — one goal and one title at a time.
