Burna Boy Leads With Seven Nominations for 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards
Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has received seven nominations for the upcoming 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. Known for his global music influence, Burna Boy has achieved numerous accolades and sold-out performances, solidifying his place as a leading international figure in Nigerian music.
The BET Hip Hop Awards unveiled its nominations on September 8, 2023, surprising many by including Burna Boy in the list. His nominations encompass categories such as Hip Hop Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for ‘Sitting On Top Of The World,’ featuring 21 Savage.
In addition to these prestigious nominations, Burna Boy’s recognition extends to Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, and Hustler of the Year.
Among the top nominees are Cardi B and 21 Savage, each with an impressive 12 nominations, followed closely by Drake with 9 nominations. Burna Boy and DJ Khaled are tied with 7 nominations each.
The 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards will be recorded in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 3, and will premiere on BET one week later, on Tuesday, October 10, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
