Tacha Eyes Politics, Opens Up About Love and Leadership
Anita “Tacha” Akide isn’t just thinking about the next big move—she’s considering politics. The outspoken reality TV personality recently shared that she’s no longer content with sitting on the sidelines and criticizing the system. She’s ready to be part of the solution.
During her appearance on Rubbin’ Minds, Tacha revealed she’s open to contesting for office—just not immediately. “When the time is right, I will,” she said. “Politics isn’t only about elections. I want to be involved in change, not just talk about it.”
She stressed that real change comes from participation, not avoidance. “We call politics dirty, yet we play politics every day—at work, online, everywhere. So why not use it for good?”
While she didn’t specify what role she’d go for, she left fans with a teasing “Watch out for me.”
On Her Home State: “Rivers Deserves Better”
Coming from Rivers State, Tacha didn’t hold back her feelings about its current state of affairs. She expressed deep disappointment over the lack of development, especially given the ongoing power struggles between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former governor Nyesom Wike.
“Look at cities like Lagos and Abuja—there’s growth, progress. But in Rivers, we’ve got talent, youth, energy… and we’re not tapping into it. It’s all just politics and church programs,” she said.
The Role of Youths in Governance
Tacha emphasized the need for young people to stop watching from the sidelines. Referring to a video by online activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) in which he distanced himself from politics, she responded, “We can’t keep complaining and expect change when we’re not willing to participate.”
She made it clear: governance affects every aspect of life. “After God, it’s government. One policy can change everything.”
On the ‘Japa’ Mentality
Tacha didn’t shy away from addressing the growing number of Nigerians relocating abroad. While she understands the desire for better opportunities, she urged people to remember their country still needs them.
“If we all leave, who’s left to fix anything? We can’t run forever.”
Love Life: Still Searching—but Not Settling
Switching gears from politics to personal matters, Tacha revealed she’s currently single and open to love. “Big Brother made people think I’m unapproachable. But if you’re good-looking, financially responsible, and smart—try your luck!”
She added that she has no interest in hiding her relationship, saying, “If I’m with someone, the world’s going to know.”
As for starting a family, she’s hopeful. “I’m not desperate, but I’m open. If it happens, great. If not, life still goes on.”
