An investigation into the claim that President Cyril Ramaphosa covered up a multi-million dollar burglary at one of his properties is beginning in South Africa thanks to a panel that was formed by parliament.
If Mr. Ramaphosa has a case to answer, the panel has one month to determine. A former top security official said earlier this year that $4 million (£3.5 million) in cash was stolen from the president’s Phala Phala farm in the Limpopo region in February of last year.
The accusation has lead Mr. Ramaphosa to be accused of money laundering by the opposition in South Africa. He’s said he did nothing wrong. The scandal has made it more difficult for the president to win reelection.
