Gospel artist Diana Asamoah has voiced her belief that the newly formed Movement for Change by Alan Kyerematen will not pose a threat to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) success in the 2024 general elections. In an interview with TV3, she asserted that Kyerematen’s departure and the creation of his political movement will not hinder the NPP’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
Asamoah emphasized that the NPP will continue to thrive despite individuals pursuing independent political agendas. Dismissing concerns that Kyerematen’s Movement for Change, symbolized by a butterfly, could surpass the NPP, she drew a parallel with a biblical narrative, comparing the party’s resilience to Jesus’s steadfastness during a reduction in followers. Asamoah expressed confidence that, like Jesus, the NPP would remain strong and emerge victorious.

Alan Kyerematen recently resigned from the New Patriotic Party to establish the Movement for Change, intending to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 elections. Meanwhile, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is set to be the NPP’s flagbearer in the upcoming elections.
