Reality TV star Mercy Eke has shared her grief following the passing of Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna.
Ruth tragically lost her life after complications from a road accident near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State. The incident, which happened on August 13, 2025, involved a truck reportedly linked to the Dangote Group. She initially underwent an amputation of her left leg at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, but sadly, she did not survive.
Reacting to the heartbreaking news, Mercy expressed deep sadness and hinted that the tragedy might have been avoided with proper care and timely action.
She wrote:
“I only wish Dangote Group had embraced Ruth with compassion. If they had acted quickly, who knows what the outcome might have been?”
In a separate development, actress Mo Bimpe also made headlines after calling out a social media troll who targeted her while she was promoting her new film My Miracle.
The Nollywood star released the movie on her YouTube channel, MobimpeTV, on Sunday, but amid the excitement, a user left offensive comments questioning her womanhood and mocking her for not having children. Mo Bimpe responded by addressing the insensitivity, shedding light on the cruelty often faced by women in the public eye.
