Tragedy struck at Mgbabeluzor village in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi when a bridge under construction collapsed, claiming two lives. The incident, which occurred around 10 am, involved construction workers who were on-site at the time.
Confirming the incident, the Ebonyi State Police Command disclosed that the victims, identified as Oshim Simon and Francis Inyang, were laborers employed by the construction company overseeing the project. They succumbed to injuries sustained during the collapse.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu, provided details of the unfortunate event, stating that the deceased workers’ bodies had been transported to the Iboko General Hospital Mortuary for further arrangements.
