The GRAMMY organizers have laid out the schedule for events leading up to the 2025 Grammy Awards, set to take place at the Arena in Los Angeles next year. On Friday, November 8, 2024, the nominations ceremony will kick off the awards season.
Amid the year’s significant shifts, the Recording Academy has revamped several award categories to reflect “the GRAMMY Awards’ commitment to inclusivity and integrity.” The updated categories aim to align with modern industry trends and celebrate a broader range of music genres.
Music fans and professionals alike are eagerly awaiting the live broadcast on live.GRAMMY.com, where the nominees for the most coveted music awards will be revealed.
This year, the Academy has introduced a new “Best Dance Pop Recording” category, replacing the previous Best Pop Dance Recording, and reorganized the Best Remixed Recording category within the Pop & Dance/Electronic Field. These changes demonstrate the Academy’s commitment to adapting to the music world’s evolution and promoting a process that “empowers creators,” according to Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr.
In his message to Voting Members, Mason highlighted the GRAMMY’s 67-year legacy, noting, “every vote has the power to shape the future of music.”
The nominations are just the beginning of this awards season, leading to the 67th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 2, which will be live-streamed from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Additionally, the Academy has updated eligibility guidelines, particularly in the Songwriter of the Year category, allowing songwriters to qualify with fewer songs—a move to “welcome more voices” into the nomination field.
