Tems to Headline 2025 Roots Picnic Alongside D’Angelo, Meek Mill, and More
Grammy-winning artist Tems is set to light up the stage at the 2025 Roots Picnic, taking place from May 31 to June 1 at The Mann in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. The Nigerian star will be joined by an exciting lineup, including iconic names like D’Angelo, Lenny Kravitz, and local legend Meek Mill, who will be making his debut at the festival.
This year’s Roots Picnic will also celebrate a significant milestone: the 30th anniversary of Do You Want More?!!!??!, the second album from The Roots. Since its debut in 2007, the festival has become a cultural institution, blending live music, entertainment, and community in a way that brings people together from all walks of life.
Over the years, the event has hosted a stellar array of artists, from Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, and Pharrell to Nas, A$AP Rocky, and Solange.
A Star-Studded 2025 Lineup
In addition to Tems, the 2025 Roots Picnic will feature performances by GloRilla, Miguel, Kaytranada, Pusha T, 2 Chainz, Adam Blackstone, and the Backyard Band. This year’s edition promises to be one of the best yet, with a diverse mix of musical talent across genres.
A Festival with Rich History
Curated by Questlove and Black Thought of The Roots, the festival is a celebration of Philadelphia’s deep musical roots. It draws fans from across the globe, offering an unforgettable experience that pays homage to the city’s vibrant music scene.
Past festivals have featured memorable performances from André 3000, Gunna, Jill Scott, and Babyface, and last year’s event included a special tribute to New Orleans, featuring Lil Wayne, The Roots, PJ Morton, Trombone Shorty, and Lloyd.
This year, with the 30th anniversary of Do You Want More?!!!??! in the spotlight, the Roots Picnic will continue its legacy as one of the most anticipated events in music and culture.
