The “Jenifa’s Diary” star is the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) Best Actress in a Comedy winner. Funke has won the award five times, cementing her status as a comedy icon and solidifying her influence in the Nigerian film industry.
Funke won Best Actress in a Comedy at the second AMVCAs in 2014 for her role in “The Return of Sheri Koko.”
Funke Akindele won her second and third AMVCA awards for Best Actress in Comedy in 2016 and 2017 for her role as Jenifa in “Jenifa’s Diary.”
The star actress won the Best Actress in a Comedy award in 2020 for her role in “Moms at War.” Funke won her fifth Best Actress in a Comedy award in 2022 for her work in “Omo Ghetto: The Saga.”
The actress is up for her sixth AMVCA Best Actress in a Comedy award for her performance in “Battle on Buka Street.”
