A tragic road accident on the Amasaman-Nsawam road in the Greater Accra Region has claimed the lives of seven individuals and left several others injured.
The incident, which took place on Monday, involved a collision between a tanker and a commercial vehicle (trotro), resulting in the loss of seven lives out of the 10 passengers on board.
Eyewitnesses, including Alex Ahenkorah, recounted the horrifying events to Adomonline.com. Ahenkorah described how the accident occurred when the tanker driver experienced brake failure, leading to a devastating collision with the commercial vehicle.
“The commercial driver slowed down upon reaching a section of the road under construction due to a hole there. Unfortunately, the tanker driver behind failed to stop, crashing into it and causing extensive damage,” explained Ahenkorah.
Following the collision, bystanders rushed to the scene to offer assistance, managing to rescue victims from the wreckage. Despite their efforts, many of the injured passengers remained unresponsive.
