Zainab Balogun Opens Up About Her Battle with Endometriosis and Keeping Her Personal Life Private
Nollywood actress, Zainab Balogun, recently shared her journey of living with endometriosis and how it affected her marriage in a heartfelt conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo. Endometriosis is a medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus grows outside of it, causing symptoms like severe pain, heavy bleeding, irregular periods, and potential fertility challenges.
With courage, Balogun revealed the challenges she faced due to this condition and praised her husband, Dikko Nwachukwu, for being her unwavering support throughout the journey. When asked about her husband’s role, Balogun emphasized the importance of having a support system, saying, “You realize that you are going to need the therapist, the back-rubber, and the make-me-laugh person.
So, it would be hard to do something like this alone [without the support of my husband]. Not even just because of the physical aspects, but more so, the mental and emotional aspects.” Aside from discussing her battle with endometriosis, the actress also touched on her decision to keep her wedding photos private, expressing her desire to maintain the privacy of her personal life.
She stated, “My personal life is very personal. It’s not out for public consumption because that is not my work, that’s my life.” Zainab Balogun, known for her roles in movies such as “God Calling,” “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel,” and “Sylvia,” is a model, television presenter, and talented Nigerian actress who continues to captivate audiences with her performances.
