Renowned Nigerian chef and restauranteur, Hilda Baci, has opened up about her journey with auditions for the Big Brother Naija show, sharing that she attempted to secure a spot on the reality program five times without success.
During her recent appearance on Cool FM Nigeria’s popular segment, The Big Friday Show, hosted by former BBNaija contestant Tacha, the Guinness World Record Holder disclosed her persistent efforts to join the show. Hilda Baci explained that her initial intention was to gain exposure through Big Brother Naija and then embark on her ambitious cooking marathon, known as the cook-a-thon. However, her aspirations to enter the reality show were met with repeated rejections.
In her own words:
“I actually tried to get on Big Brother [Naija] for a while. I think I auditioned about four or five times. The plan for the cook-a-thon was still in the pipeline, so my goal was to go to Big Brother and then come out and do the cook-a-thon.”
Notably, Hilda Baci made waves on social media when she unveiled the recipe for a soup crafted from a N60,000 fish. On her TikTok platform, the celebrated culinary expert took her audience through the process of preparing a barracuda fish soup, skillfully incorporating additional proteins like shrimp and snails. The step-by-step guide offered viewers an engaging culinary tutorial.
