Nollywood star Stan Nze has made it clear that while he loves his craft, he won’t put his life on the line for a movie role.
In a recent interview with The Nation, the actor explained that stunts involving dangerous jumps or risky moves are best left to professionals who are trained and paid to do them.
“Why would I risk my life? I’ve acted in films where characters have to jump, but that’s what stunt actors are there for. They’re experienced, skilled, and it’s their job. I won’t do something foolish just to be called the best actor in Africa. Imagine jumping from a height and then people do a one-minute silence for me—what’s the point? I’d rather stay alive, do my part well, and let the stuntmen handle theirs,” he said.
On roles he hasn’t yet explored, Stan admitted he’s never gone nude on screen. However, he added that if a story required it and it was done briefly and tastefully to pass a meaningful message, he wouldn’t completely rule it out.
