Queen Nwokoye Opens Up on Why She Hasn’t Worked with Funke Akindele
Nollywood actress Queen Nwokoye has shared why she hasn’t yet collaborated with fellow star Funke Akindele, despite past invitations.
In an interview with Seun Oloketuyi on Sunday, Queen explained that while Funke has consistently reached out, the timing has never aligned.
She also reflected on her experience with Toyin Abraham, noting that although Toyin contacted her as far back as 2016, they were only able to work together this year.
“My family always comes first when it comes to my career. Toyin has been calling me since 2016, but I only got to work with her this year. Funke has never done a movie without inviting me, but the timing is always off,” she said.
Queen, who began her Nollywood journey in 2004, also spoke about the personal challenges she has faced. In 2019, she lost both her parents within six months, and she described the difficulty of managing two funerals in such a short span.
“I still don’t know how I pulled through. Today, I’ve decided to be happy and leave the past behind. God is in control,” she reflected.
The actress has been married to businessman Oluchi Uzoma since 2011, and the couple has three children.
Queen Nwokoye is now set to appear in Toyin Abraham’s directorial debut, Oversabi Aunty, marking a new chapter in her career.
