A suspect has been taken into custody two weeks after PnB Rock was killed.
A 17-year-old man was detained early on Tuesday in connection with the rapper’s shooting inside a South Los Angeles Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles.
The teenager’s father, Freddie Lee Trone, is thought to be the second person still wanted. Father and son collaborated on the action, claims TMZ. Freddie drove the getaway vehicle while the son committed the shooting.
A hypothesis that the attack was motivated by a social media post from his girlfriend may be contradicted by the fact that the pair was already in the parking lot of Roscoe’s when PnB arrived. The suspects allegedly destroyed the getaway car after the murder.
The father could not be apprehended despite efforts. The LAPD identified him as a “person engaged” in the murder earlier today and issued a picture. Trone, a lifelong associate of a street gang in South Los Angeles, is regarded as “armed and deadly.”
