News outlets reported that Herbert Wigwe, a prominent banker and CEO of Access Holdings Plc, was involved in a tragic helicopter accident in the United States. The incident occurred near the border between Nevada and California and claimed the lives of five other individuals, including Wigwe’s wife, son, and Abimbola Ogunbanjo, the Group Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group).
The US Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the crash, which occurred on February 10, 2024. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department released a statement indicating that there were no survivors found at the crash site, located east of the 15-Freeway near Halloran Springs Road.
