Tunisha Sharma, a television actor, allegedly committed suicide on the set of a serial in Vasai, Maharashtra’s Palghar district, on Saturday.
Sheezan Mohammed Khan, her co-star, has been charged with abetting the suicide.
According to NDTV, the 20-year-old went to the restroom on set and did not return for an extended period of time. She was discovered hanging inside when the door was broken down. People on the set rushed the actor to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
According to senior inspector Kailash Barve of the Waliv police station, a police team was on the scene. While those on the set claim that Tunisha Sharma committed suicide, cops have stated that they are looking into all possibilities.
The actor and her co-star, who was arrested on her mother’s complaint, both played major roles in the show ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul,’ where she was discovered hanging.
She began her career as a child actor in the Sony TV show ‘Maharana Pratap,’ where she played Chand Kanwar. She has since appeared in several shows and Bollywood films, most notably as Katrina Kaif’s childhood character.
Tunisha Sharma was on Instagram just hours before she died. She captioned a photo from the shoot set, “Those who are driven by their Passion Don’t Stop.”
