Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has shared a heartfelt message of support for his nephew, Davido, following the singer’s outcome at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Although the global music star didn’t take home a trophy this time, he chose gratitude over disappointment. Shortly after the ceremony, Davido hopped on his 𝕏 page to post photos from the night and reflect on the moment with a simple, faith-filled note: “Oluwa Dey my side,” meaning “God is on my side.”
It was a quiet but powerful reminder of his mindset—focused, hopeful, and grounded.
Governor Adeleke, who has always cheered Davido on throughout his career, quickly responded with a proud uncle’s love. “Proud of you always @davido,” he wrote, celebrating the singer’s journey rather than the result.
Davido’s reply was warm and playful: “Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR.” The exchange instantly caught fans’ attention, showing the close bond between the two.
At this year’s awards, Davido earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration With You featuring Omah Lay. The prize eventually went to South African star Tyla, marking her second win in the category.
Still, for Davido, the night wasn’t defined by what he didn’t win. Backed by family, loyal fans, and a strong belief in himself, he continues to push forward—proof that setbacks don’t slow down a star who knows his worth.
For many supporters, the message is clear: Davido’s story is far from over, and the next chapter is already loading.
