An Algerian court sentenced former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s brother to 12 years in prison for corruption.
The brother’s advisor, Sad Bouteflika, was also fined nearly $60,000 (£50,000).
Several top Algerian businessmen were convicted alongside him and sentenced to long prison terms.
Following a wave of pro-democracy protests, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who was accused of fostering corruption during his 20-year rule, was forced to resign as president in 2019.
He passed away two years later.
