Following the disclosure of her alleged affair with co-anchor T.J. Holmes, Amy Robach was removed from the air for the first time.
The 49-year-old anchor appeared utterly unconcerned as she walked her dog around her brand-new New York City neighborhood on Wednesday. Robach appeared to be appropriately attired as she wore a white blouse and green cargo pants with a denim jacket and brown boots. As she walked the streets of midtown Manhattan, she wore her blonde bob in a sloppy ponytail and wore little makeup.
Robach’s appearance follows “GMA3” bosses’ decision to axe the couple off their daily show at 1 p.m. because their suspected romance had become an “internal and external distraction,” just a few days before Robach’s exposure.
Even if the alleged affair between Holmes and Robach “was not a breach of company policy,” ABC News president Kim Godwin warned that it would damage the “GMA” reputation.
On Monday, co-anchors Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez had to awkwardly inform their viewers that they were taking “the day off.”
The alleged relationship between Holmes, 45, and Robach came to light last week after pictures of the two interacting intimately online and in Manhattan clubs were released.
They arrived at work the following day “as a couple,” despite the fact that they haven’t yet commented on the situation and are both now married to other people.
According to a source, “although producers had been freaking out and having meetings about whether it was acceptable to put them back on camera again together, they turned up as a couple and stated they were ready and perfectly great to go on air,” acting like “nothing happened.”
Although Holmes was unconcerned with the circumstance, his wife Marilee Fiebig was “blindsided” to discover the relationship because she saw Robach as a close friend. Holmes allegedly found Fiebig cheating on her with another “GMA” producer, Natasha Singh, a few years earlier, and they were currently working on patching things up.
Since the revelation of that affair, other sources have come forward to assert that Holmes had multiple affairs with coworkers in addition to his 12-year-old wife. The news anchor has already left their shared NYC home while Robach and her husband, Andrew Shue, are already close to finalizing their divorce.
