President Tinubu Honoured with Chieftaincy Title During Visit to Anambra
President Bola Tinubu was warmly welcomed in Anambra State on Thursday, where traditional rulers came together to honour him with the chieftaincy title Dike Si Mba, which means “Hero from Another Land.”
The event took place in Awka, with the ceremony led by Igwe Chidubem Iweka of Obosi, the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council. Rulers from across the state were present, offering their blessing and recognition.
The title was given as a sign of appreciation for the President’s ongoing support and engagement with the people of Anambra. His visit began earlier in the day when he arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri, where he was greeted by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Deputy Governor Onyeka Ibezim, and other state leaders.
One of the major moments of the trip was the official opening of Anambra’s first-ever Government House—an achievement over three decades in the making. The President also commissioned several development projects spearheaded by the Soludo administration.
This visit marks Tinubu’s second time in the South-East this year, following a previous stop in Enugu back in January, further highlighting his continued presence in the region.
